“Widowhood leaves you forever changed but does not have to mean forever suffering.”- Sarah Nannen

Updated: Jul 13, 2021

I knew I needed support from a third party, but wasn’t exactly sure what that looked like for me. After a few months of living in survival mode and “pretending my husband was deployed,” I decided to reach out for help. At first, I pursued advice from other military widows since that comforted me with hope. I could easily relate to them, and they ultimately led me to contact Sarah Nannen. She is a veteran, Gold Star Wife, and mother of four.

Sarah Nannen is a trauma-informed life coach, transformation teacher, and the founder of Beyond Surviving, a movement that teaches a proactive and renegade approach to mental health, emotional resilience, and navigating grief and trauma recovery. She wrote a book called Grief Unveiled (available on Amazon) and even produced Grief Unveiled podcasts.

I personally completed her Chrysalis program, which is her signature grief support course and life coaching program for widows. Sarah has truly been a blessing to me through this journey, and I believe this program transformed my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I’m enjoying making memories with my children again and finding things to be grateful for everyday that I never thought was possible.

If you are curious to learn more, you can follow Sarah on Instagram: @beyond.surviving.sarah or Facebook: sarah.nannen or check out her website: www.sarahnannen.com.

Much love and gratitude,

Erica
